Labsco Summary

ShowHide
Which of the entries write code and which only draw pictures, which of them the project puts first, what quietly changed underneath the default name, and which one puts the dials in your hands.

Thirteen alternatives, and which ones only draw.

The 13 entries are alternatives, not layers of one thing, and the work is picking the one that fits and leaving the rest alone. Only 3 of them stop at pictures — a website's sections, a phone app's screens, a brand board — and hand the building on to something else. Everything else writes code or files straight into a project.

A rewrite that arrives without asking.

The general-purpose skill was rewritten and the install name did not change with it. Re-running the install swaps the old one out in place for a version the repository itself still calls experimental.

The one it replaces is still here under a name of its own, and asking for it by that name is the only way to keep what you had. For everybody else the project's advice is to begin with the new default.

Three dials, and where they live.

That default opens on three numbers you set from one to ten, and they are the only part of the whole set that is tuneable rather than fixed:

  • how far the layout may experiment, from centred and plain to asymmetric
  • how much motion there is, from a hover effect to scroll-driven animation
  • how much is packed onto a screen, from airy to dashboard-dense

No other entry exposes them, which is an argument for starting there rather than with a named look.

What gets installed: 13 skills

Skills

For a page with nothing there yet and no look agreed. The current default reads your brief and settles on a direction itself; one entry is the earlier edition of that same skill, frozen so a project built on it keeps behaving as it did; the third is a stricter edition written for Codex.

design-taste-frontendBuilds landing pages, portfolios and site redesigns that do not look AI-made: it reads the brief to pick a visual direction first, then checks the finished page against a list of the usual giveaways.design-taste-frontend-v1The older version of this author's frontend design skill, kept unchanged so a site already built with it keeps coming out the same; new projects are meant to use the current one.gpt-tasteBuilds a one-page website with scroll-driven animation, and deliberately shuffles the layout, fonts and components on every run so it never hands you the same page twice.
