The eleven account-gated skills split by product surface: dd-apm covers traces, services and dependencies; dd-logs handles search, pipelines, archives and cost control; dd-monitors creates, updates and mutes monitors; dd-debugger places live log probes on a running service to inspect real argument values without a redeploy; dd-symdb searches service symbols for probe-able methods; dd-triage-flaky-test and dd-unblock-pr investigate CI failures and attribute them as flaky, infra, or regression; dd-file-issue routes GitHub issues to the right repository; dd-code-generation either runs a pup command directly or generates code that calls it for integration into an application; and pup itself and dd-pup together document the CLI's own claimed 49 command groups and 300-plus subcommands and its OAuth2 login with token refresh. The twelfth, dd-docs, is the one exception — it reads docs.datadoghq.com/llms.txt and linked pages, no Datadog account required.

This is for a team already running production Datadog that wants an agent to query monitors, logs, traces or CI health without leaving a chat session, or to triage a specific flaky test or blocked PR. It is not useful to evaluate before that account and its API/application keys exist — pup auth login gates eleven of the twelve skills, and none of them substitute for actually having Datadog installed.

READ THE FULL ANALYSIS

On the readme's own voice. It leans on a dog metaphor throughout — "Give Your Agent a Puppy," "sniff out errors," "housetrained" — and frames the release as a competitive race ("Companies like Vercel and AWS are racing to make their platforms agent-accessible, but we're leading the pack"). That framing is Datadog's own marketing copy for the CLI, not a claim we are making about the skills themselves.
