clickhouse-best-practices is the one that does the real work: its own description says it is "MUST USE when reviewing ClickHouse schemas, queries, or configurations," and it holds 31 rules an agent is meant to check and cite before giving a recommendation, across schema design, query optimization, and data ingestion. setup is the other skill, a one-time flow that walks a new user through connecting the ClickHouse Cloud Remote MCP server this plugin bundles, and it is meant to run only "when the user first installs the plugin or has trouble connecting."

This is for anyone already running Claude Code against a ClickHouse cluster who wants schema and query review that cites specific rules rather than generic database advice, plus read-only SQL access to that cluster through the bundled MCP connection. It has nothing to offer if you are not already on ClickHouse.

The rules are not written in this repository. The README says they are sourced from a separate repository, ClickHouse/agent-skills, tracked here as a git submodule and kept current by a weekly GitHub Action that pushes upstream changes directly to main, so a fix to a rule has to land in that other repository, not this one. The README also lists installing through the Claude Code plugin directory as "pending marketplace approval," so that path may not work yet; cloning the repository directly and pointing --plugin-dir at it is the fallback the README itself gives.
