The skill routes requests to on-demand guides for seven diagram types — flowchart, sequence, class, ER, state, C4, and architecture — plus two Python scripts that pull Mermaid blocks out of a Markdown file, validate them, and render them to PNG or SVG. Rendering and image export need a separate global install, @mermaid-js/mermaid-cli; generating the diagram text itself needs nothing beyond the skill.

That makes design-doc-mermaid a fit for one developer who wants an agent to draw a diagram instead of writing a paragraph describing one, and is willing to do that one extra npm install for validation and image export. It is not a curated guide across every diagram type it advertises — there is exactly one skill in this repository, and no grouping beneath it.

READ THE FULL ANALYSIS

Its file tree and its own status tracker disagree. The README's Structure section marks the architecture-diagrams.md and sequence-diagrams.md guides, plus the React, Node.js, and Java example folders, all as Complete. Its separate Completion Status section, further down the same file, lists the architecture and sequence guides as Planned, the React example as In Progress, and the Node.js and Java examples as Planned too — only the Spring Boot example is checked off in both places. We read both sections as written and cannot say which one is current. C4 and state diagrams, both promised in the skill's own trigger description, do not appear in either section.
