The skill, weread-skills (installed as Tencent/WeChatReading), covers seven areas of that account through natural-language requests rather than a fixed command set: searching the store across ebooks, audiobooks, serialized fiction, and authors; book detail and reading progress; shelf management across ebooks, audiobooks, and saved articles; notes and highlights, including your own annotations and other readers' popular highlights; reading-time statistics and ranking; public book reviews; and personalized or similar-book recommendations. The README's own examples are conversational -- 'search for Three-Body', 'how long did I read this month' -- rather than an API a developer calls directly.

This is for someone who already has a WeChat Reading account and wants an agent that can act on it -- check a shelf, pull highlights out of a book, summarize reading habits -- not a general reading or book-metadata tool for people outside that ecosystem. Because the key is bound to a specific reader's identity, every request that touches personal data (shelf, notes, stats) reflects that one account and no other.

What it costs to start. The skill is labeled account_key: you get the key from a WeChat Reading page (weread.qq.com/r/weread-skills) and export it as WEREAD_API_KEY before anything works, and the README notes identity-bound calls are injected automatically from that key rather than passed by hand.

Checked from the package's own README and its one skill description; we have not exercised the API against a live account ourselves.
