LABSCO SUMMARY

Summary

vercel/ai-elements ships one skill, and it is a thin pointer to the npx ai-elements CLI rather than a description of the component library itself.

The single skill, also named ai-elements, is one paragraph: build AI chat interfaces — conversations, messages, tool displays, prompt inputs — with the ai-elements component set, and use it when the user wants a chatbot or AI-assistant UI. It carries no reference material of its own about what any individual component (Message, Conversation, PromptInput, and the rest) actually renders or accepts as props; an agent that triggers this skill still has to fetch the registry or read the installed source to know what it's working with.

This is for a Next.js project already running the AI SDK and shadcn/ui, where the win is having an agent reach for npx ai-elements@latest add <component> unprompted instead of hand-rolling a chat UI. It assumes shadcn/ui is initialized and Tailwind is configured in CSS-variables mode; a project without either needs that setup done first, which the skill does not walk through.

What is missing.

Vercel's own README documents component-by-component installation, a full usage example wiring useChat into Conversation and Message, and a recommended AI Gateway setup — none of that detail is repeated in the skill description itself, so the skill's value is almost entirely as a trigger phrase rather than as instructional content.
