News lookups stop being a browser detour.
One call covers both ways people follow news: a phrase, or the token for a story or topic already being tracked. Because gl and hl are parameters rather than machine settings, the results are the ones a reader in that country and language would get, which is the difference that matters when the question is how something is being covered elsewhere.

Requirements

Catching up on a story you are following
Google News addresses a running story, a topic, a section or a publication by token rather than by search string, so the follow-up call returns that same thread of coverage instead of a fresh guess at it.

Checking how a subject is covered in another country
gl sets the country and hl the language, so the same query can be run as a reader in that market would see it — which is the point when the question is about coverage rather than facts.

The paths in the block are the author's own Windows ones — the README says to adjust them to your system. Set command to the full path of your node binary (which node prints it) and the args entry to the absolute path of dist/index.js in your clone, and put your SerpApi key in SERP_API_KEY.
