LABSCO SUMMARY
A date-and-subject feed of preprints, not a keyword search.
Researchers tracking a field get new preprints by subject and time window, and can see which ones a journal has since published.
What it is
A connector Anthropic built and runs at hcls.mcp.claude.com, which reads preprint data from bioRxiv and medRxiv. Preprints are research papers posted before peer review. It needs no sign-in and no key.
What you get
- Preprint lists by subject and date range, from either bioRxiv or medRxiv
- Full details for one preprint by its DOI: abstract, authors, funding, license and a PDF link
- Preprints that later appeared in a journal, filterable by publisher
- Preprints backed by a named funder such as NIH or the Wellcome Trust
- The 27 bioRxiv subject categories, to pick the right filter
- Monthly or yearly bioRxiv submission and readership figures
Requirements
An MCP client that can reach a remote address. In Claude you add it under Settings > Connectors. In Claude Code you can install it as a plugin from Anthropic's life-sciences marketplace. Funder searches reach back only to 2025-04-10.
