Medicare Part B coverage rules, searched and read for you.
It brings national and local Medicare coverage policies, the Part B drug exclusion list and recently updated documents into one search, so a coverage question gets answered from the policy text itself.
What it is
A connector Anthropic built and runs at hcls.mcp.claude.com, which reads Medicare coverage policies from the CMS Coverage Database. It needs no sign-in and no key.
What you get
- National coverage documents searched by keyword, including National Coverage Determinations (NCDs)
- Local and regional policies searched by keyword, including Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs) and their articles
- The full text of any coverage document by its type and ID
- Up to 20 NCDs fetched at once, to compare related policies
- Coverage documents published or updated recently, nationally or locally
- The Medicare contractors that process Part B claims, with their IDs
- The Self-Administered Drug Exclusion List: drugs that cannot be billed under Part B
Requirements
An MCP client that can reach a remote address. In Claude you add it under Settings > Connectors. Some data it returns is covered by CMS's own license terms, which you accept by connecting. It cannot tell you which contractor serves a given state; for state rules it searches local policies by keyword, and you check which contractor each one belongs to.
