What it is
Gusto's own server that brings your live Gusto payroll and people data into AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor. It answers questions, and it can also do work: log time, onboard an employee or contractor, and prepare payroll. Every change comes back to you to confirm before anything moves.
What you get
- Payroll history, totals and pay breakdowns, including why a payroll cost more than usual
- Employee and contractor details, roles, compensation and headcount by department
- Contractor payments, timesheets and hours worked
- Pay schedules, upcoming pay periods, and anything that could block the next payroll

- Payroll reviewed, checked and run, for companies that have this early-access feature
Requirements
Only payroll admins can connect, with primary or global admin permissions in Gusto. You sign in to Gusto and choose which categories of data the AI tool may see. There is no separate fee. Running payroll is in early access and open to a limited set of customers. Gusto asks you to use it without other connectors in the same chat, approve each action yourself and turn off model training in your AI tool.
