LABSCO SUMMARY
Business questions answered from the Power BI models you already have.
It answers business questions from the Power BI models your organization already maintains: the assistant finds the report, reads its model and writes and runs the DAX query.
What it is
Microsoft's hosted server that connects AI assistants to Power BI reports and semantic models in Microsoft Fabric. It is generally available and read-only. It has no question-answering tool of its own: your assistant combines its tools, writes the DAX queries and explains the results.
What you get
- Reports and semantic models found by name, or from a link copied out of your browser
- A report's metadata and a semantic model's schema
- Exact stored values located inside a semantic model
- DAX queries run against one semantic model at a time, with large results returned as a CSV file
Requirements
- A Microsoft Entra work or school account with access to at least one Power BI report or semantic model, in a tenant whose home region supports all Fabric workloads.
- You sign in through Microsoft, and the server sees only what your Power BI permissions, row-level and object-level security allow.
- GitHub Copilot CLI works without extra setup.
- For Claude Code, you or a tenant admin first register your own Microsoft Entra app; its Power BI permissions need no admin consent by default, and the Install tab lists the steps.
- Dashboards, paginated reports and Power BI apps are not supported, and results are only as fresh as the model's last refresh.
