Describe the app, watch it appear in Power Apps Studio.

Canvas apps get built and edited by description, with each change validated and showing up live in the Power Apps Studio session you have open.

What it is

Microsoft's server that links an AI coding tool to a canvas app you have open in Power Apps Studio. Your tool writes the app's screens, controls and formulas as code files; this server checks them and keeps them in sync with the live editing session in Studio. The app has to exist first: create and save it in Power Apps, even if it is blank.

What you get

  • The controls available to your app, listed and described
  • The connectors, APIs and data sources your app can use
  • Generated app code validated, with errors for the tool to fix
  • Changes synced both ways with the open Power Apps Studio session

Requirements

The .NET 10 SDK or later. A Power Platform environment where you can create or edit canvas apps, and a saved app with coauthoring turned on (Settings, then Updates, then Coauthoring). Install Microsoft's canvas-apps plugin, then run /configure-canvas-mcp with the app's Studio address and sign in when prompted. Keep the Studio tab open the whole time; if it closes or the session expires, reopen the app and run the setup again.
