Many servers here force one or the other, which means either a human pastes a long-lived key or a scheduled job cannot connect at all. Mixpanel offers both and documents which is for what. The org-level enablement is the governance counterpart — analytics covering session replay is sensitive enough that someone should have decided. Check the regional endpoint if you are in the EU or India; the default one is the wrong address.
