Cell-level slide analysis across 26 TCGA cancer cohorts.
Researchers can filter TCGA H&E slides by the cells Owkin's HistoPLUS model detects, see the predictions on the slide, and test whether a cell type is associated with survival.
What it is
Owkin's Pathology Explorer, an AI tool for tissue analysis, made available inside Claude as a remote MCP server at mcp.k.owkin.com/mcp. It works on H&E histology slides from 26 TCGA cohorts, using Owkin's HistoPLUS model to detect and classify cells. Owkin's own K-Pro chat has the same tool with more: an interactive whole-slide viewer, the IBDColEpi cohort, and custom questions on the feature tables.
What you get
- The supported TCGA cohorts and cell types listed
- Slides filtered by cell features, such as low lymphocyte density, with their histomics features
- Slide thumbnails and tile mosaics with the model's predictions
- Overall and progression-free survival analyses on a cohort
- Histomics data exported as Parquet files for your own analysis
Requirements
An Owkin account, free to create at k.owkin.com; you sign in to Owkin when you connect. A paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise) with custom connectors allowed, and a workspace admin who adds the Owkin connector first. Owkin documents setup for Claude.ai and Claude Desktop, not for other AI tools. Sessions last 15 minutes; when the tools stop answering, disconnect and reconnect Owkin under Settings > Connectors.
