Expense chores for employees, spend analysis and approvals for finance.

Employees finish reimbursements and card memos with it, and finance admins use it to chase missing receipts, apply GL coding and clear approval queues.

What it is

A remote MCP server Ramp runs at mcp.ramp.com/mcp, for Claude, ChatGPT, Notion and other AI tools. The assistant can only see and do what you can already do in Ramp, and Ramp records each action under your name.

What you get

  • Card transactions searched by merchant, amount, date or person, and edited with memos, categories, trips and attendees
  • Reimbursements found, completed and submitted
  • Your cards and their balances, a card locked, unlocked or activated, and remaining budgets checked
  • Trips created and flight and hotel bookings viewed
  • Answers on whether a spend is within policy, and on how Ramp works
  • For admins: spend analysis, top vendors, missing receipts, accounting codes applied, and Ramp Banking balances
  • For approvers: transactions, reimbursements and requests approved or rejected

Requirements

  • A Ramp account; you sign in to Ramp when you connect.
  • Ramp admins choose whether all, no or specific employees can connect (on Ramp Plus, also by role), and company-wide data needs Admin or Business Owner permissions.
  • ChatGPT's one-click app needs a ChatGPT Plus or Pro plan, and for coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor, Ramp recommends its Ramp CLI over this MCP server.
  • Receipt files cannot be passed through it, and bill approvals stay in Ramp; do those in the Ramp app.
  • If you see only a couple of tools, your account usually lacks Admin or Business Owner permissions; ask your Ramp admin to check your role.
