Asks you at most four questions about your quality bar, offers a sensible default for each, and writes the answers into a CONSTRAINTS.md file where every number comes with a reason. It then watches each change for the quiet ways an agent lowers the bar, such as new ignore comments, skipped tests, removed assertions and edited-down thresholds; /constraints starts it in the agent-skills plugin.

WHEN YOUR AGENT SHOULD USE IT

A QUICK BOUNDARY

USE FOR

  • Write down your project's quality bar before handing work to agents.
  • Pick a coverage or performance threshold when you have no number in mind.
  • Record each exception with an owner and an expiry date.
  • Hold today's coverage as a floor that must not fall.
  • Decide which checks run on every edit and which wait for CI.
  • Enforce secret scanning, dependency audits or accessibility checks as rules.

DO NOT USE FOR

  • A project whose CONSTRAINTS.md you are not changing; the agent just follows it.
  • Throwaway scripts, spikes and prototypes.
  • A code review right now, or building the CI pipeline; code-review-and-quality and ci-cd-and-automation do those.
  • Unattended runs such as CI or loops; the interview needs you to answer.
