Sentry's house rules for its engineering blog, applied to a draft you are writing or one you are reviewing: a real person's name on it, an opening that gets to the point, and no press-release phrasing.

WHEN TO USE

SCOPE

USE FOR

  • Draft a Sentry engineering blog post structured around the reader's own questions.
  • Rewrite an opening that starts with company background instead of the problem or conclusion.
  • Review a draft for banned corporate phrases, AI-writing tells, and filler transitions.
  • Check whether a finished draft would pass Sentry's 'would I share this' bar before publishing.
  • Turn a vague heading like 'Results' into one that states the actual finding.

NOT FOR

  • Not for a changelog entry; changelogs belong in the changelog, not a blog post.
