Ask in your own words and it returns actual chunks of Aristotle, Hegel or Nietzsche with the book and date they came from, rather than a paraphrase. The cut-off is the trade: everything is public domain, so modern translations and twentieth-century scholarship are not in there.
What it is
A hosted server that runs semantic search over 4.6 million text chunks drawn from classical philosophy and humanities works, all of them public domain and sourced from the Internet Archive.
What you get
- Natural-language search across the whole collection, using hybrid dense and sparse retrieval with cross-encoder reranking
- Results that carry the passage itself plus title, creator, date, language and subject
- An author filter, so a question about the categorical imperative can be answered out of Kant rather than out of commentary
- A language filter covering English, German, Latin, French, Italian, Greek and Russian
- The books the collection actually holds for an author, listed before you search inside them (get_book_list)
