Works out how a site's content should be shaped in Contentstack before anyone builds it — what deserves a type of its own, what should be a reusable block, and where a model is more elaborate than the content warrants.

WHEN TO USE

SCOPE

USE FOR

  • Decide whether a piece of data should be a content type, reference, global field or group.
  • Get an existing content model reviewed for over-modeling or unnecessary complexity.
  • Model reusable page sections without creating deep, hard-to-query reference chains.
  • Work out how to structure a content model that needs to support multiple locales.

NOT FOR

  • Making the schema change itself — this only recommends a model, you create the fields yourself.
