A code review that catches passwords, tokens and API keys about to leak into logs, error reports or responses, because an object prints all its fields and some other code prints whole objects.

WHEN TO USE

SCOPE

USE FOR

  • Check a change that adds a token or password field to a data class or settings object.
  • Find logging, tracing or error-reporting code that dumps whole objects or every argument.
  • Trace whether a credential can reach a log line, cache entry or API response anywhere in the repo.
  • Tell which hiding options, such as repr=False or SecretStr, still leave a path open.
  • Get one concrete fix per finding, plus a test that proves the secret is absent.
  • Review Python, JavaScript or TypeScript code, including Sentry and OpenTelemetry calls.

NOT FOR

  • Direct leaks, like writing a token straight into a log message; the security-review skill covers those.
  • Hardcoded secret values in code, or committed .env files.
