Copies one of your PostHog endpoints — a saved query your own apps call to fetch numbers — into another project, such as from staging to production, or next to the original under a new name.

WHEN TO USE

SCOPE

USE FOR

  • Promote a tested endpoint from a staging project to the production project.
  • Make a working copy of a live endpoint so you can change it without breaking its callers.
  • Check the target project for a clashing name before anything is created.
  • Confirm the copy returns the same shape of data and that the events it uses exist there.
  • Start the copy with pre-computed results switched off until it proves it gets traffic.

NOT FOR

  • Copying to a different organization — endpoints can only be recreated in projects you can edit.
  • Editing versions of an existing endpoint — that's managing-endpoint-versions.
  • Designing a new endpoint from scratch — that's creating-an-endpoint.
  • Copying every endpoint in a project in one go — it copies them one at a time.
