Writes down, inside a PostHog project, what each key number officially means, which of several look-alike tables to trust, and how tables link together — all as proposals a person then approves.

WHEN TO USE

SCOPE

USE FOR

  • Seed a new project's catalog from the charts the team already relies on most.
  • Propose a link between two tables only after measuring how well their records really match.
  • Mark the tables a team trusts, and flag stale or duplicate copies for retirement.
  • Walk a person through the queue of pending proposals, with the evidence behind each one.
  • Spot a defined metric that has drifted away from the chart it was copied from.
  • Retire a duplicated or superseded metric, after a typed confirmation.

NOT FOR

  • Answering a business question from the catalog — that is the querying-posthog-data skill.
  • Checking a trusted table is still correct, such as nulls or freshness — use authoring-data-quality-checks.
