The note that goes on top of your work to tell the people reviewing it what to expect — what behaves differently now and where the risk sits, rather than a list of the files you touched.

WHEN TO USE

SCOPE

USE FOR

  • Write a first PR title and body from the branch's full diff, not just its latest commit.
  • Refresh an existing PR's title and body after follow-up commits change its scope or risk.
  • Add a before/after example or small diagram only where it saves reviewers real work.
  • Draft the smallest useful PR body for a one-line, obvious change.

NOT FOR

  • Not for adding default Summary, Changes, or Test Plan section headings.
  • Not for pasting commands, CI logs, validation dumps, or exhaustive file lists.
