estate-and-tax-brief

One preparation step required★ 96 on GitHub

Checks whether a household's accounts are actually set up the way its estate plan intends, and briefs you before the meeting. It pulls the plan and last year's filed tax figures from Wealth.com, compares the plan with how each account is titled and who its beneficiaries are, and ranks the mismatches, such as an unfunded trust or an ex-spouse still named. It opens with what has happened since you last met and, once you approve, adds follow-up tasks to your CRM.

WHEN TO USE

SCOPE

USE FOR

  • Check whether a client's trust is actually funded.
  • Find outdated or missing beneficiary designations before a review.
  • Bring last year's tax picture into an estate conversation.
  • Turn the flagged items into follow-up tasks in your CRM.

NOT FOR

  • Legal or tax advice, drafting trust language, or retitling an account: every flag ends by pointing you to the household's estate attorney.
