For when you know what you want to put on Microsoft's Azure cloud but not which Azure services to use: it looks at your idea or your code, proposes a setup with a price attached, writes the files, and deploys only after you say yes.

WHEN TO USE

SCOPE

USE FOR

  • Put an app you already have onto Azure without first learning which Azure services it needs.
  • Move an existing app onto Azure with little or no rewriting of its code.
  • See what running your app on Azure would cost before anything is created.
  • Ask which database or hosting option suits your app, and hear why the others were ruled out.

NOT FOR

  • Re-running a deployment that is already set up; the azure-deploy skill does that.
  • Cutting what you already spend on Azure; that is the cost-optimization skill.
  • Writing infrastructure files for a setup you have already chosen; use azure-prepare.
  • Fixing an app that is already running on Azure and has broken; use azure-diagnostics.
